And wow was she better than we had ever imagined. Not only is she an incredibly talented photographer with an eye for the perfect picture, she is generous with her time and her care. She genuinely feels the whole day with you, doing everything in her power to capture it and make you feel so incredible at the same time. And she is a flipping awesome human who we just loved spending time with. My husband was quite nervous about our couples photos, but with Sharyn’s coaching and help he felt so comfortable and was able to just get lost in the fun of it all. We were unlucky enough to have a very rainy misty day on our wedding which i was devastated about because I was so excited for sunset “bangers”. Sharyn didn’t even bat an eyelid and spent another two hours with us the next day, producing some absolute magic. My only complaint about Sharyn is that she is so talented that choosing our favourites for the album was near impossible. Thanks Sharyn, you were a huge part of our dream wedding becoming a reality. And to any couples planning their wedding, you would not be in kinder, more talented and fun hands than Sharyns.

After following Sharyn’s work for a few years, we were lucky enough to win a shoot with her in Cape Town. It’s one thing to make people feel comfortable while shooting (which she does SO well) and it’s another to deliver photos that blow your mind. I’m excited to fill our home with beautiful landscapes she captured of our little family (2 humans, a goldie and a frenchie). I LOVE how she incorporates nature and the surroundings to create living pieces of art. I would recommend her to anyone any day! Thanks for creating bangers Sharyn!

She is such a warm and easy going person, which takes away a lot of the stresses attached to wanting your wedding day, including pictures, to be perfect. She is a good listener and offers professional guidance to make sure that you get the best.

“AMAZING, let’s do this! That’s the enthusiasm Sharyn brings to every shoot and it shows from the pictures. She was very well prepared, and that made the two shoots (evening and morning) so much more convenient. Showing us her ideas, and giving us the opportunity to try out. But also if we didn’t like the idea, no discussions. Very easy going working together. The flawless communication, her enthusiasm and the precise preparation, were the receipt for the most beautiful and special pictures than we could have ever imagined.

We now have one of our pictures printed on a huge glass plate hanging in our living room. It doesn’t only remind us of our honeymoon, but mostly of two days of fun with Sharyn (and Ted). The photo shoot in itself was the best activity of our honeymoon. We will be coming to Plet for more fun and pictures soon again.

My husband and I did our engagement shoot with her and weren’t exactly seasoned in photography space and were quite nervous, but she made us feel so comfortable and we honestly had the most fun at the Robberg Nature Reserve.

On our wedding day she was just as amazing, again made us feel comfortable and laugh and came up with creative ideas which is so helpful when you have a million things going on. She arrives and just gets on with it absolutely hassle free.

She is also so amazing at directing your bridal party (although not her job – Sorry Sharyn!), she is firm and helps things move along swiftly so as too not waste your precious time.

Our photos were out of this world beautiful – on both occasions and we couldn’t have dreamed of more We really could not recommend her enough, she is accommodating, understanding and willing to help (especially with all the rescheduling with Covid). What a legend and BANGER of a human!!!

She truly is one of the kindest people I know, and she made our first time meeting her like we had known her for years. She took us adventuring through the beautiful Tsitsikamma forests when we first met, and a few months later photographed our wedding, as well as an additional shoot at Emily Moon.

Each time she took the most jaw-dropping photos. Our wedding photos are breathtaking and so uniquely us. Sharyn’s passion shines through, and she is pure magic behind the camera. She has the knack for making you feel so comfortable, and she really captures your true self in her work.

We really could not have asked for a better person to shoot our wedding day! Sharyn was so professional, yet relaxed and hilarious (bundu bashing to get that perfect shot). Well FIRSTLY, I could not have asked for a better photographer because hands down, she is the BEST photographer (aka: below average photography) that I know of and SECONDLY, a good friend of mine! Even though I know Sharyn would prefer photographing dogs more than humans

So let me tell you a little bit about Sharyn…

Sharyn has a heart of gold and a driven passion for photography that keeps expanding with new adventurous ideas (BANGER IDEAS) that seem out of this world, (risky) but always a massive success! Sharyn walks her children (dogs) ALMOST every morning, sometimes gyms (well she says she does, mmm), drinks coffee all day (almond cappuccino, double shot thanks), and maybe champagne/cocktails – depending on what mood she is in…

Anyways, leading up to Casper and my wedding day, I told Sharyn many times that Casper is very stubborn when it comes to someone telling him what to do or posing for photos. Therefore, on our wedding day Sharyn was extremely brave and told Casper he can aim the Champagne at her as she takes the photo, Casper had the biggest grin on his face because all he wanted to do was hit her with the cork, (I am sure he was not being serious) but after all the photos and receiving them, I have never seen my husband soo satisfied and boastful about how AMAZING Sharyn is as a person and photographer. On the wedding day, Sharyn went the extra mile and brought me a cappuccino from Delia’s (thoughtful) and honestly made my wedding day even more enjoyable and adventurous. Sharyn always goes the extra mile to capture moments you never thought of seeing and made us feel super comfortable.

Sharyn is a phenomenal Photographer and I would never second guess her. I recommend her to almost everyone I meet or are friends with that are getting married and trust me, Sharyn is worth every penny! (getting the best of both worlds here).

LASTLY, please make sure you have really good cake or dessert at your wedding, and make sure to give some to Sharyn, she will be over the moon! (PS: she has gone vegan now, so alternatives will be much appreciated)

She was excited and that added to our excitement of our engagement. It was such a fun shoot and she made us feel so comfortable and the photos reflected this.

We really hit the jackpot when it comes to photographers. Choosing a wedding photographer can be a pretty daunting task but from the moment I saw Sharyn’s work I knew she had to be the one, and our expectations were definitely exceeded. I love most that every picture captured tells a story and that Sharyn went out of her way to make recieveing our wedding photography parcel as special as possible.

We received a beautiful wooden box with our names and wedding date ingraved on it that held our USB and some of our favorite photos printed out, presented beautifully among some special sovienurs that Sharyn had collected on our wedding day like the confetti thrown and some moss that she had saved from the forest at our wedding venue it was like opening up a time capsule and that to me was such a special touch. We were extremely impressed with the turn around time in which we received a sharable link to some of our wedding photos which was within a matter of days! She is also a dream to work with, everything flows naturally and lots of fun and laughs are guaranteed to be had.

The first time I saw the pics on your website I actually shed a tear; the way you capture emotion and love is exquisite, and your ability to photograph special moments without intruding really showed through. Our engagement shoot with you was such fun! Our paths crossed, Sharyn Hodges, in my opinion the kindest most down to earth photographer I have ever met. Throughout our planning Sharyn gave us minute by minute guidelines, which smoothened our day to such an extend that we were ahead of schedule. On meeting the gentle spirit making her way between make-up, seven bridesmaids, moms and flower crowns I realized that it was grace having Sharyn as our wedding photographer. Since that moment Sharyn was capturing more than picture, she snatched relationships, moments, laughs and the most beautiful scenery the eye could meet. Nothing came in the way for one more ‘banger’ as she was calling it being captured. Our wedding pictures tell of hundred moments an thousand emotions, one promise being made and we would have non other that this amazing person there to capture them. Sharyn blended in with our guests, brought a calmness to the day and became out friend. We love to send time celebrating the memories for ever captured by her. The weather was probably one of the worst days of the year, but Sharyn so happily embraced it with us. She even helped us out with a little “dryer” repeat shoot a few days later to make sure we were happy with all our photos.

And now the time had come when I got to plan my dream day. I have always had an obsession with photos and I needed the perfect photographer to capture my special day. We knew that we wanted to get married in Plettenberg Bay, so I decided to research photographers in the area. I came across Sharyn’s Facebook page, the Instagram account, immediately became obsessed and decided that she would be our photographer. Luckily she was available for our wedding date, but we would have 100% changed our date just so she could be there.

I wanted to meet up with her before we got married so I could get a sense of what she was like, and isn’t she just the absolute sweetest! We immediately connected over our mutual obsession with dogs, I could see her passion for art shine through her eyes whenever she talked about what goes into her photos… and she liked coffee. It was like meeting an old friend, and somehow after meeting her, I had a feeling that we would be having more coffee dates in the future.

The big day arrived and Sharyn fitted in with the family so beautifully! She made Andy feel so comfortable in front of the camera he was actually being natural and smiling, only something I’ve been trying to do since we started dating! She kept on screaming “BANGERS!” “What models!” “Andy those TATTOOS!” And we couldn’t stop smiling, our faces were sore from laughing so much and we just had so much fun!

A while later our photos arrived and I was honestly in tears. She captured not only the moments but the moments in between those. She caught the glints in our eyes, the smirks between the smiles and the emotion in every moment. This woman isn’t just a photographer, she captures moments and she creates art. She deserves to win all the awards and she has such a bright future ahead of her! I highly recommend you Sharyn! Not only as a photographer but as a person! I cannot wait for our future photo shoots.
